Your first BJJ class - how exciting, what an amazing journey is opening up to you.
For your first class, the most important thing is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Generally, clubs will lend you a gi (martial arts suit) for the first few lessons to see if you like it, you can also wear a gi from another martial art, like Judo. If you don't have a gi at all it is usually fine to wear a t-shirt and sweat pants, the only restriction is that you shouldn't wear anything with loops/pockets/hard bits as these can be dangerous in martial arts. Speak to the club beforehand to check.
